ORPHANS' CLUB.
The filial committee meeting of tlio Wellington Orphans' Club for.tho 1910 session was held recently in the Marino Institute of Engineors.' Dr. Arnold Izard, pfesident, was, in tho chair. A full report of'tlio season's operations was submitted. to ' the meeting, 'which showed tlio club to be in a remarkably healthy financial condition for its first session. The president congratulated the committee on the splendid success achieved in'the first'yeaf,' and said that it reflected tlio highest credit on Mr. ICeeiiaiij tlio secretary, who inaugurated the club; for the exceptional organising ability "displayed by him in its-formation, and for the capable.way the various social functions were carriod out. The'success of the club; concluded Dr. bo attributed in a great mea6uro"to"the splendid work of Mr. Iveenaiir- Praise was also duo to the excellent work accomplished. by the conductor, Mr.' Bloy, during tho season, and tho capital orchestral items supplied by his orchestra, for which members were much indebted. It. was resolved unanimously to make Dr., Izard, the first president of the club; a lifo member, and tender him a dinner nt an early 'date in recognition of the invaluable-services lie has .rendered the club. It Vas'also further resolved that tho committee, meet during tho. summer months and organise an outing for members. ' A resolution was passed expressing : , heartfelt, sympathy and condolence in tho great loss sus-. : titincd by Brother Orphan' Perry in.his recent sad bereavement.
