ENTERTAINMENTS.
o HIS MAJESTY'S THEATRE. Fuller's pictures at His Majesty's Theatre are an exoellent series, of topical interest in certain special features, such as tho pictures of .the recent grand military manoeuvres in England. Dramatic taste is well catered for in "The Vestal," "Tho Usurer," and "The Heart, of a Sioux," while "Wilful Peggy" and "Foolshead as Cashier" are screaming comic farces. Other good' pictures are "Italian Cuirassiers" and "The Cowboy's Stratagem." 'For today the usual childr'en's matinee and evening exhibitions are announced.
THE KING'S THEATRE. The current" week's programme of [cinematograph entertainment at tho King's Theatre is a particularly good one, and thoroughly representative in ■its variety of subjects. Of topical interest is tho Melbourne Cup race of 1910; Pathe's Gazette, an up-to.-date series of scenes at recent events elsewhere, is also brimful of topical interest, while "Yachting in Sydney Harbour" is a seasonable film of scenic beauty. A prize matinee is announced for this afternoon, and the usual exhibition will be given in the evening. i STAR PICTURES. St. Thomas's Hall was well filled last evening, when the'' current programme of pictures . was enthusiastically received. The same subjects . will be screened to-night for- the last time, and on Monday a new selection of films, covering a wide field of interest, will be presented. JOHNSON-JEFFRIES PICTURES. The much-heralded reproduction by biograph of the celebrated fight between Johnson and Jeffries, which tho MacMahon Bros, introduce to Australasian audiences for the first time at the Wellington Opera Houso on Thursday night next, promises to attract large audiences. It is said that the films are excellent as regards clearness, and are a faithful presentment of the actual encounter. In addition to the fight picture, which measures 6000 ft., a new and up-to-date series of biograph surprises will constitute tho first portion of the programme. It is announced that popular prices will prevail, and that seats may be booked at the Dresden, on and after Monday next, without extra fee.'
AMATEUR ENTERTAINMENT. In the Sydney Street Schoolroom, on Thursday and Friday evenings next, a musical and dramatic entertainment, including the melodrama "Gentle Gertrude," will be given. The proceeds of the entertainment are in aid of the building funds of the Boys' Institute, and the Unitarian Society. Further particulars will be found elsewhere in this issue. SUNDAY CONCERT. The Wellington Professional Orchestra will give a concert ,in the Town Hall to-morrow evening. Mr. Herbert Bloy will conduct, and the soloists will be: Mr. Harold Dakers, tenor, and Mr. J. Yitetta, harpist. The orchestra will play "Zampa" (Herold), three "Dances" (from Nell Gwynne), Entr'acte music from "Rosamond,'' and "Yalse des Fleurs" (Tscharkovsky). The concert will commence at 8.15 o'clock. '
Jupp's Band will play at Island Bay to-morrow afternoon.
The organ recital which was to have been hold in the Town Hall this evening has been postponed until next Saturday evening, November 19.
