SPORTS AT ROBIN HOOD BAY.

The usual summer sports, held recently at Robin Hood Bay, Marlborough, were a marked success. An excellent programme was drawn up, and a dainty lunch provided. The 100 yards school championship was carried off by Eric Mackay, who also, won the Cumberland wrestling. Oliver Townshend secured second nlace in the boxing event, showing such skill and pluck that both he and the boxing master (Mr. K. P. Stace)wcre accorded a round of applause. The coy s Drum and Fife Band was in attendance, tho music being much appreciated by. all. Following an old custom, after darkness had set in, everyone assembled at the beach, to Watch , a fireworks, display, which lasted well into the evening Mr. H. J. Stace 'kindly lent lus services as judge in tho running and jumping events.
