SPORTS MEETING.
PALMERSTON TECHNICAL SCHOOL. The Palmersfcon Technical School held its first.annual athletic gathering on the snorts ground on Wednesday afternoon in glorious weather, though the ground was rather sodden from tie previous twentyfour hours' heavy rain. There was a fair attendance of the public. The. programme comprised some twenty events, for which trophies had been donated by the business people of the town. _ The | following are the results of the principal events Two-mile bicycle handicap: C. Perrin (150 yards). 1. One-mile bicycle handicap: A. Mellis (50 yards), 1. 440 yards handicap: S. Parker (20 yards), 1. 880' yards handicap: Sexton (70 yards), 1. Long jump championship: L. V. Corpe ' ft. Gin.), 1. 220 yards' hurdle championship: L. V. Corpe, 1. 100 yards,championship: L. V. Corpe, 1. 220 yards championship: L. V. Corpe, 1. Mile championship: W. Sexton, 1.
