(From Oar Special Correspondent.! HIGH SCHOOL CONCERT. A very enjoyable concert was given by the Hutt District High School in St. James's Parish Hall last evening. The hall was packed, and the programme, which consisted of items from the scholars of-Standards I to VI, was excellently received. PETONE POLICE COURT. Messrs. Caverhill,: London,'and Wakeham, J.P.'s, presided at a. sitting of the Petone Police Court yesterday morning. W. Blair, charged with driving without a light after. sundown, ' was fined 55., and costs 7s. W. Burn,, for riding a bicycle on the footpath, was fined 2s. 6d., and 7s. costs. For'allowing his chimney to catch fire, J. Neno. was fined Is. and. 7s. costs. A charge was preferred against Frank. Newman for alleged assault and improper language.' After hearing the evidence the case was dismissed. Mr. T. M. Wilford appeared, for defendant.
