I'ahu and Portcullis finished locked together, but the others were outclassed.

A hot, favourite in Rill was beaten in the next race/zwhen the- lightly-weight-. Ed Sir Solo, took charge earlyj and won by a couple of lengths'. The favourite, Skye, aud Captain Ik 11' ivere all in a line> at the finish, and the judge gave the verdict for second place to Skye, by half a head. Sir Antrim was made favourite. From a fair start, Mataari and Llanwern made play with Sir Antrim : and Rauparaha a couple of lengths away and Airiiwell whjpping in tlio field. All the eight acceptor-s for the High Weight - Hack Handicap - went to the post. Eiya'(a stable mate of the winner of the hurdles) was favourite, but never showed up prominently. Himitangi, under the whip, finished gamely, and getting to the leader ill the last few strides, won by a neck. Boyno Water was a good third.

Eva was withdrawn from the Electric Hack Handicap in which Lady Doris was the first, and Lord Possiblo tlio last, to move. Entering tho straight, tho field closed on Lady Doris, who was being ridden. Lealibra and British Maid drew almost level under punishment, but Lady Doris managed' to keep in .front, and . won by a nook from British Maid, with Leahora closo up. British .Maid (a.Wairarapa Gujneas candidate) gave a better exhibition than on the previous day.

It was intended to start Tumut in tlio Stewards' Handicap, but after being saddled up, he showed signs of lameness and permission' was given to withdraw him. His stable mato, Sunbo'nnot, making her first appearanco this season, was favourite, and was lucky to scoro. She was last to begin, Full I'ato'being at the head of affairs at the- end of a furlong.. He drifted back in the market, however, and, as ho went out of favour, tliero was a rush for Awlia.' Strathmoira got away with the others, but dropped back, and at tho half mile .was' in tho rear.
