The Grand Jury, sitting at Los Angeles, it to be established "that the .explosion /which . The..:, building. was practically [.wrecked,.; and it immediately caught fire. ■ A number .cf men' were cut off by the flames,; and the crowd -which had gathered. in '.the/ street,. saw . them reach the windows' and 'hen fall backwards into the 'flames.. .. Several- of the editorial staff' -leaped from the' windows, but; were killed.by. the fall. The plant . was' destroyed,: and. the total damage is estimated at .£IOO,OOO.
