Oattlo: Small yearling steers, £2 Is. to £2 9a. 6d.; empty cows, to £3 12s. M.; dairy cows, to £6; cows, with calves, to £4 10s.; two-year steers, £4 7s. 6d.; yearling bulls, to £3 12s, 6d.; yearling heifers (dairy), £3 4s. to £3 17s. 6d.i grade Jersey bull, £6 10s.; a nice lino of grado Holstein yearling heifers sold at £5 3s.
Messrs. Dalgety and Co., Ltd., report on their fortnightly sale at Ekctahuna yesterday as follows:—Our yarding in Bheep did not come up to advertised numbers, but we had a full yarding of cattle. The New. Zoaland Loan and Mercantile Agency Co.. Ltd., report for the week ended October 29 as follows;—At our Apiti sale there was a large attendance. The entry of sheep was a good one, and cattle' came forward in fair numbers. 'All classes of stock sold well. Quotations;— Sheep: Wethers hoggets, 14s. 7d.; cull do., 9s. lid.; shorn ewes, 7s. Mr. Newton King's weekly stock report is' as follows:—At the Haymarket on Saturday, the pens were lilled with pigs, and good jjrices were realised. Slips made 3s. to 55.; woanors, 6s. 6d. to. 95.; stores, 14s. 6d. to 175.; small do., Us. to 135.; baconere* 335. to 395.; a two-year unbroken hack brought £10 7s. 6d. On Monday I hold a clearing sale at Awatuna on account of Mr. TV. Kcholy. The cows were a nice lot, though not in toi> good condition, but notwithstanding, good prices were realised. Youug cows ranged from £7 ss. to £U 65.; aged do., £3 15e. to £6 10s.; mare, £14 10s; gig, £7 55.; sundries Bold at usual rates. At Rahotu on Tuesday there was a good yarding. Bidding was brisk throughout, and practically everything sold at the hammer at full market rates. Mr. Allen T. Yiokcrs. auctioneer, of Talhape, reports :—At my clearing sale of horses held yesterday, -on behalf of Mr. E. J. Dingle, contractor, of Taihape, there was a very large attendance of buyers, some from Waikato, Taranaki, and Palmcrston, besides local purchasers. Bidding for all lines wan Bpirited, particularly for heavy sorts, and every lino cleared at good prices, several lots being purchased for tho Egmont Box Company. The horses offered were a very fine lot. Prices:—Light hacks, £5 to £8 10s,; heavier sorts, £10 to £12 10s.; spring-carters, £12 to £18; half-draughts (light), £10 to £16 10s.; heavier sorts, £16 to £21; draughts, £27 to £50 10s.; timber wagons, £25 10s.; engine, £65; harness and gear at market prices. I also sold a quantity of timber at market rates. Draught horses , are in good demaud. This was ono of the most successful sales of draughts ever held in this district.

Ox beef sold from £1 Is. to £1 3s. 6d*; and cow and heifer, 17s. to £l.ls. Steers ranged in price from £6 7e., 6d. to £11 10s.; cows, .£3 15s. to £8 15s. Fat and young calves wcro yarded in average numbers, but values were scarcelyi up to la6t week's, although satisfactory heavy made from £2 Bs. to £2 16a. i medium, £1 10s. to £2 25.; light to medium, 15s. to £1 Bs. s small, 3s. to 10s.; 69 sold. ' There was a moderate entry of fat sheDp, and prices were much the same as the previous week's. Heavy woolly wethers made from £14s. to £1 6)i. 3d.; others, £18s. 6d. to £1 35.; shorn, 16s. 9d. to £l; ewes .in their wool, £1 to £1 45.; shorn heavy prime, 16s. to 17s. 9d.; lighter, 14s. to 15s. 6d.; 1178 sold.
