At about'3o feet along this level: the'reef, made'to. six'feet in width, .but it has now cut out. Oh the western side of the cut on the reef track, 31 feet has. been driven; at -which point a rise is being-put up; and is. now at a height •of 28 feet. When-this rise connects with No. 9.branch winze, it 'will provide ample ventilation for No. 10 level, and enable operations to be carriedon extensively. The main crosscut has, also been extended a further distance of 12 feet without, any change; to report. The western winze, No. 9 level, is boing cleaned out preparatory to a con-: nection being . made .with No. ■: 10 rise: ■In : .liho; intermediate, level, ibetween Nob. .8 and 9 levels,. stone Has been . taken out from under tho'foot, and wo • aro now .'.taking along the slope over the level in blank ground.
