MORGAN TO BUY UP CANADA.

At a meeting of the Canadian Municipal Union, at Winnipeg, a report was presented in which it was alleged that an organisation, headed by Mr. J. Pierpont Morgan, .'had all the principal city franchises and water power resources generally of Canada .mapped out for invasion. The scheme was described as a most formidable one,'. affecting the whole Canadian national heritage. The magnitude of Mr. J. Pierpont Morgan's enterprise may be gathered from the fact that he controls over 50,000 miles of railways in. America. New Zealand has barely 3000 miles of railway all told. Mr. Morgan in 1801 occupied himself with the creation of the American' Steel Trust, with a capital of over ,£200;000,CKIO, and ; :a few years later organised the Ai-l-antic Shipping Combine, ' embracing'* a monster .fleet of. 132 Atlantic liners of 1,150,704 tons. The railroad capital he controls is said to amount to .£600,000,000, and his banJring interests to w£40,000,000.
