Lord Pentland, of Lyth, is : the title taken by the 'Right Hon. • John Sinclair on his elevation- to tho House of ,'Lofdst last year, when a baronage was bestowed upon v him. He is fifty years age, and after being' educated at Sandhurst )i6 entered the Army in 1879, retiring as captain in 1887. Since that time he has sat ill Parliament for different constituencies, and has been Secretary for Scotland from 1905 onwards.
