INSUBORDINATE VOLUNTEERS.
: 0 NEW SYSTEM UNDER CRITICISM. By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright. (Rec. August'l9, 9.40 p.m.) London, August 19. Some attention . has been called 'to instances of insubordination during tho manoeuvres of the Territorial Army (the Volunteers and Yeomanry). A magistrate has sentenced a Territorial, David Cunningham, to a month's imprisonment with' hard labour for disobeying his sergeant-major's drill order, and Drummer Jineath, of the Swansea Territorials, has been sentenced to fourteen' days'- imprisonment for impertinence-, to his captain. Some of' tho newspapers, in advocating compulsory service, suggest that the manoeuvres prove that the Territorials are. a failure, and that their knowledge, physique, and discipline are insufficient. . .
