Good seasons, the statement saitr, continued, and the prospects for the State never looked hotter. , The revenue realised last year totalled .£5,119,253 sterling, and the expenditure ■£5,113,578. .- All the items dxcept those under the head of "mining" exceeded the estimate. The .land revenue. showed an increase of .£59,105, and'railways an inore'ase of i£GS,C23. If was not anticipated that the requirements for the coming year would necessitate a resort to' the money market.' .''.' Tho, Federal note issue would cause a loss to Queensland of .£25,000 yearly by rendering Treasury notes, valueless. ■"Within six months of the passing of the Act the whole of the Treasury notes, amounting to - .£1,600,000, would have to be redeemed. Fortunately they would be able to< do this without unduo pressure. ■■'■..'■
The Treasurer estimated the revenue for tho current year at ,£5,046,207.
