Two young men, named George Augustus Vincent and William Roger Kells, were charged at the Magistrate's Court -to-day with breaking anil entering the dwelling house of William Gray, inGrey Lynn, and stealiug a piano and rug valued at v£3s, in May last. \ It was stated in evidence that Mr. and Mrs. Gray had left New Zealand, leaving their house in charge of an agent, who had instructions to let it furnished, if opportunity offered. The house was not let, and it remained locked .up. On. the night of July 21 three men drove to the. house in'a cart, broke open the window, opened the door, took out the piano, and loaded it oh to a cart. They made rather much noise,' however, and aroused a few neighbours. It is alleged that the men knew that they.had been seen, and consequently abandoned the cart and piano in the roadway. There was evidence to tho effect that.the two accused were two of the men seen at'the house. Evidence was further given that, after ho was arrested, Kells, who is a relative of '-Mrs.''Gray, made a statement to Detective Do Norville admitting complicity in the affair; .-•'• ■ , Accused pleaded n6t guilty, ' reserved their defence, and were committed to the Supreme Court, for trial.' • ' / -•'•
