(Prom Our Special Correspondent.)' •MAGISTRATE'S COURT. The monthly sitting of the Pctono Magistrate's Court was held yesterday morning, -Mr. W. R. Hascldcn, S.M. occupying thu bench. Judgment for plaintiff was given in tho following civil cases:—William Inglis v. H, Stowell, £2 Us. 10d., with costs 53.; same v. E. Summons, ,£l2 4s. lid., costs 10a. -lid.; snmp v. Richard Bond, ,£3 16s. 3d., costs lls.; same v. C. Green, £i['< 55., costs 195.; John Cotton and Sou v. Jas. Davidson, JKf 10s., costs 55.; "Chronicle" Printing Company v. J. Jones, 65., costs 75.; same v. Newman Slack, 155., costs 75.; Thomas Francis Valledo claimed £i Bs. from Thomas Rccshy for furniture. Judgment .was given for plaintiff. Thomas Lowis sued Sirs. Peterson for the recovery of a dog. Judgment was given for defendant. fhillip Cameron, of Korokoro, was charged with assaulting two boys, named Henry and Kdward Tannihill. After hearing evidence tho Bench dismissed the case without costs to cither party. Mr. Ayson appeared for plaintiff and Mr. Jackson for defendant. Kate Stowell made application against her husband, A. H. Stowell, for a maintenance order. Tho application was granted. Edward Hoarc, a prohibited person, was charged with procuring liquor. He was finod £2, in default fourteen days' imprisonment. David Reid, another prohibited person, who was charged with entering licensed premises, was fined £2, in default fourteen days' imprisonment. SOCIAL. Tho monthly "social" in connection with the Petono W.Y.M.S. and .Wesley Guild was held in the W.Y.M.S. rooms last evening,, Mr. Ackroyd presiding. There was a good attendance^,and a very enjoyable evening was spent in games, songs, etc. Items were' rendered -by Messrs. C. Bradley, Carson, G. Blakelyi and one by thu Glee Cluu. ' . LOWEK HOTT RINK. The programme offered for the carnival nt the Lower Hutt 'Skating Rink to-mor-row night'is creating a great deal of interest amongst skaters, and the special novelties that'trill be witnessed should, attract a large number'of spectators as well as competitors. Tho proceeds, are in aid of tho Children's Hospital fund. SEATING. AT PETONfi. ~ Tho Palace Theatre at Petone continues to attract large numbers : of patrons, ' A band is in attendance every evening. The management have decided to/hold another carnival at an early date, wherii,the proceeds will be devoted to ilie Petone Ambulance wagon fund. •■' ~
