' The scheme about to be floated is that' tho dairy company should take 'all the .whey, erect sties and yards, and maintain: a herd of pigs larger than, the aggregate .which its. suppliers have , maintained hitherto,-and,also'.employ extra'labour to/ feed and look after the animals. It is considered that by this means Hie work, which at present , is distributed amongst all the suppliers, can be done by one or two men,, who,'as it will he their .special work, can give all their attention to the fattening and welfare of tho herd. . ;• The annual report of ' the Parkvnle Dairy Company shows that .during the season,''S,Ss3,lSllb. of milk wort received, being "an increase of, 963.4461b: on last, season. ' The yield of butter-fat was 21.510,2331b.,- from which' 5G0,5541b. or 250 tons of cheese were made. Each pound of butter-fat yielded ~2.G61b. ,of cheese, and each pound of cheese' required 9.901b. of milk. The tests ranged' from .2.8 to 6.2, , the average being 3.87. After setting I aside ,£66 Bs. 4d., as a.6 per cent, divi-; dond on the subscribed capital, and writing £R1 6s. 9d. off for depreciation of plan, and buildings, there-remains a.balance'of '.C 2408 13s. I'd. "due to suppliers, making tho actual price paid per lb.-'of butter-fat 11 11-16 d., equal to 4.75 per gallon of.lo.Ub. of milk. Messrs. G. H. Eaton and, W."A.
