FESTIVAL OF EMPIRE.
PARLIAMENT BUILDINGS IN MINIATURE. By Telcsrapli—Press Association—Copyright. London, August 14. In connection with- tho Festival of Umpire, which was to have been held this year, but which was postponed owing to tho death of Xing Edward, activo preparations are being made for holding it in.1911 on an enlarged Kale, befitting Coronatiou time. It is proposed to erect models of the Dominions' Parliament Buildings, in n-Jiich will bo displayed colonial exhibits. The. models will bo two-thirds the actual size of the buildings. ■ The Festival of Empire was originally to have been opened on May 23 last. The council arranged' to. take over tho whole of tho Crystal Palace and grounds, and alt the Stales of the Empire were to have had exhibitions within the Palace. The Governor-General of each Dominion had l>een requested to act as the head of local organisations to co-operate with the council' in London, and the whole project was stated to have been taken up most enthusiastically. A pageant showing scenes in the development of the Empire was also planned at an estimated' cost of ,£so,ulW. There was to be an art section,- with exhibits from Canada, South Africa, and Australasia in three galleries.
