SENIOR CHAMPIONSHIP. • RUNAWAY WIN FOR COLLEGE. The senior finals were decided on Saturday, College being returned winners. The two leading teams played off, viz., College and Karori,'. and tho former rattled up a big score, the result of tin's match coming as a surprise to many. College had been in active training for some time, and wcro in much better! form than Karori, and tho latter team were- beaten easily in all points of the game. No. 1 ground was used for the match, and proved to. be in splendid condition. Karori aro runnors-up. Y.M.C.A. effected a surprise win over United, and Wesley easily won from Metropolitan. COLLECE, 10; KARORI, 1. It was hardly expected that Karori would give such a poor exhibition of hockey as that displayed, on Saturday. They were unprepared to meet College, and were beaten badly. The Collegians were in grand form, and with a clinking good forward line they fairly swarmed round the Karori circle. After a few minutes' fast and open work, G. Strack carried play, to the circle, whence tho first scbro- was put on by another player. College, 1; Karori, 0. Karori returned the attack, G. Davios and Murphy each having a try at the net without success. 'College were scon at it again, and before long Campbell conceded a corner. Shots were cent in by G. Strack and Beere. Leo Dayies ■in goal saving on each occasion.; Tho Collegians were having tho best of tho game, and C.Strack was successful with a high shot which gave the opposing goalkeeper no chance. College, 2; Karori, nil. . After Murphy (Karon) had failed to score, G. Davios came to the rescue and secured a goal for Karori. College, 2; Karori, 1. The Collegians were -soon oh the. attack again, and G. Strack and Smith: each notched a goal. The latter's shot was a long hot one, the ball bouncing off the: goalkeeper and into the net. Thus College were three goals to tho good; Karori wore conceding many comers to save themselves, and, at no time during • the game did they cause their opponents - much anxiety. Karori, however,, made a few spirited attempts to score, but the' College defence was far too secure to allow the attack to get through. Goals during tho second spell came in rapid succession. " Three came oif the stick of Smith, G. Strack scored two goals, and C. Strack one. The game thus ended: College, 10; Karori, 1. The two-referee system proved a success, Messrs. C. S. Falconer and G. Southwick officiating. Y.M.C.A., 2 j UNITED, 0. The game Y.M.C.A. v. United was played with short spells to allow those taking part to witness tho big match. Y.M.C.A. prevailed with a surprise effort, last .year's champions, being beaten.. Y.M.C.A.-were generally attacking, thus giving tho opposing, backs plenty to do. They failed on one occasion to score through bad luck, and the first spell brought no score. They became, aggressive from the commencement of the next , spell,' and Loader shortly scored a magnificent goal. United made a creditable attempt to get through without any material result. Y.'M.C.A. later obtained their own way, and the ball passed from Loader's stick off Paul and into thej not. There was' no. further score.

WESLEY, B; METROPOLITAN, 2. The score is tho fairest indication of the form of these two teams. Metropolitan, howovcr,,.have,, : proved themselves 'fairly good for a new senior :team, and though beaten.on Saturday they were-not altogether outclassed.
