THE SUGAR INDUSTRY.
STATEMENT BY FEDERAL PREMIER. - By Tekgraph-Prcss Association-Copyright. Melbourna, August 13. A deputation asked the Federal Prime Minister (Mr. Fisher) to advance money for the erection of central sugar mills.. He replied that the matter was one for the State.. Constitutional difficulties wore in the way, otherwise the Federal Government would not hesitate. He added that the time was near when the Commonwealth -would have, power to appoint a tribunal to adjust payments between parties in the sugar industry.
