Osmond Butler's sawmill was seriously damaged by. fire early this morning, the flames having a full hold before any of the neighbours were aware of tlie outbreak. Most, of tho woodwork of . tho surrounding machinery was destroy- ■ ed, thereby injuring tho plant. The mill is insured in the Phoenix office, but the amount is not available. ■■OUTBREAK-SUPPRESSED. • Dunedin, August 14. ~ . About 7.45 this morning: a .tiro broke out in a. large building in North Dunedin, formerly known .as the Well Park Brewery, but now occupied by Wilton's Malt Extract Company.
