Tho barometer lias continued falling steadily in tho south, but remained very high in tho north. The weather has been generally hazy, but showery on the West Coast of the South Island on Wednesday night. Northerly winds have freshened in 'the South Isinnd, but have boan light and variable in the north. Present indications are for stormy and wet weather shortly southward of New Plymouth and Napier with northerly winds, strong to gale. Hazy conditions are probable in the north with moderate to strong easterly winds. Tho barometer will probably fall everywhere, and slowly in the north. D.
