theatre .royal, Fullers Vaudeville Company attracted a large audience to the 'X'heatre Royal last night. AYard Lear, tho popular purveyor ot original and farcical wit, kept tho _ audience in roars ot laughter, and was recalled several times.. The thrilling bicycle act of Yaldare and Varno'S a Js°. loudly applauded, and,, at- its conclusion, it . was announced that, on' Monday evening' next, the pair would be associated with .two other elever trick cyclists , from Australia, and-that the quartet would treat tho public to an exhibition seldom, if ever,, seen in the Dominion. The other successful. performers were the Two Gibson Girls, Gertie Johns, Charles. Reeves, and Rupert Christie. Another. performance will be given -this ©ven*-' ing. KING'S THEATRE.' A very successful week would eeem fo be assured for tho new programme of pictures lthich was screened for the first time on Wednesday evening last, in,, variety of subject,, artistic worth, and general interest, the films selected represent tho last word in tho art of kino, matography. Dramatic studies are worthily -represented-by such striking.representations as "Catherine, Duchess of Guisa,' while comedy.: and scenic studies have their quota pf representation. The pictures will be. shown this evening, and the usual, matinee and evening displays are announced for to-morrow. ■ .- ■,

A very. good."house" attended the.special benefit exhibition which ' was given by tho management of the .Star Pictures at St. Thomas's Hall last evening in aid of the Children's Hospital fund- Tha pictures, shown were. all. by the celebrated • Pathe freres pictun- firm, lent for' the occasion the local agent, and included in the series were some gems in .kinematographjr—some pictures of high merit, comic studies, tabloid dramas. A donation of £9 14s. to the Children's Hospital fund was the result; The Mayoress (Mrs. T. M. WilfoTd) was present; and during;, an interval in the proceedings was presented with a cheque representing tho proceeds of tho entertainment. The Star. Pictures will show as usual foT.the restof tho week, but not on Monday, as the. hall has been previously engaged. The' "change" programme will therefore be shown on Tuesday next.
