INDIANS BY THE SHIPLOAD.
RUSH TO CALIFORNIA. By Telegraph—Press Association-Copyright London, August 10. Reuter's Calcutta, correspondent states that Indians in California have written to relatives to the effect that they have found good land. Five shiploads started in July last, via Hong-Kong. They ,aro mostly Punjabese—Mohammedans—and Sikhs. Many more are. preparing to follow.
The United States' Consul-General is of opinion that they will be refused admission to San Francisco.
