(Prom Our Special Correspondent.) Masterton, August 3. A, committee meeting of the Masterton Borough Council was held last evening, at which Councillor Pauling presided. An application from Mr. F. Murray, of Wellington, for permission to exhibit illuminated pictures on the wall of a certain building iu Masterton was declined. Messrs. Dagg Bros, wrote, complaining that the overflow from tho reservoir was damaging their property. Tho matter was left in the hands of the borough engineer to deal with. The manager of the abattoirs reported that during last month 143 head of cattle, G calve;, 726 sheep and lambs, and 90 pigs had liecu slaughtered at the abattoir. The. treasurer of the Masterton Borough Council reported last evening that there was an overdraft on tho district fund account of J.'507l lis. -Id.
