UNIFICATION OF LAW URGED. By Telegraph—Press Association-Copyright. (Heo. August i, 9.5 p.m.; London, August' i. Lord Justice Sir W. It. Kennedy, irt his presidential address to the International Law Association at the Guildhall, said the world's peace would bo'hastened if the institutions most closely affecting human life were universalised and unified. If the law of all civilised communi"ties were administered on practically identical principles, it would engender a sincere sentiment of solidarity which would tend to make war impossible. The Conference discussed the desirability of allowing contracting out under the Employers' Liability Act in the cases of old and weakly workmen who are liable to discharge owing to tho extra liability their employment entailed. .Several speakers favourably commented on tho Now Zealand Acts. Mr. Justics Denniston represented New Zealand at the Conference.
