Dr. George Brown, the vet-, eran Methodist Missionary, will celebrate his golden wedding to-morrow. He married a daughter of tho late Rev. J. Wallis, of Auckland, at Raglan in 1860. Dr. Brown was born at BarnaTd Castle, Durham, in 1835, and after beiDg educated in England. and at M'Gill University in Canada, he came to New Zealand in 1855. Some years later he went as missionary to Samoa, where ho remained for fifteen years. ■ He was later the pio-, neer missionary in New Britain. In 1891 ho was president of the New South Wales Methodist Conference, and from ISB7 to 1908 he acted as general secretary of Foreign Missions of the Methodist Church of Australasia. ■■'■,'
