'. h The-rate at which the collections in , Aewtown Museum are being increased, if maintained, should give it ere long substantial rank' among institutions of ita iind in the Dominion. In one room sis ' cases, containing animal specimens are to ■ be replaced by. a. single large-case sixty feet long by fourteen wide. Among the larger undertakings which the taxider-' mist. Mr. A. Yuill, has in hand, ore the mounting of two panther specimens and '. a Honeys. These completed, he, is to proceed with a restoration of the. moa, similar in size to that in the Dominion Jlu- -.' seum. A skeleton of the moa is to be placed beside the restored specimen. The bird collections are also to be largely increased in the near future. ' Awaiting attention are some three hundred skins, • chiefly of,'birds belonging to India, but including also natives of.America, China, and other regions, Probably to these ' will bo added the collection of Brazilian and Malaysian birds ■ of' which the pur-', chase l by public subscription is contemplated.., ; • ./-■■■■■ •..'..■■■' •. .- ■.'.,.•..
