Ba'thurst, Unionist member for Cirencester, has suggested that a referendum be taken with'a view to preventing a long and acrimonious agitation on women's suffrage.
Mr. Asquith, in replying, said the proposal was a novel one, and the Government had not. yet considered the matter. ■' I
