HUTT VALLEY HIGH SCHOOL.

STILL "UiNDEII CONSIDERATION."

Though the matter of establishing a high school to serve the educational needs of tho Mutt Valley-is still "under consideration," recent developments have, shown that tho various portions of that community are now disposed to act upon n cummon .understanding' as to its locality. Previously there was a conflict of opinion between the Hutt and Potent as to the site of the proposed school. At the Education .Hoard nu'eti.ng yesterday,, a letter was read from the l'utt Borough Council,' conveying the offer of a site for the school. During the discussion which followed, it was pointed out that the school committees had recently conferred upon tho matter, with a view to arriving at a' 'harmonious settlement. It was latterly agreed that the l'utt Borough Council be (hanked for its offer, but that in the meantime Hie 'board had resolved to await an oxnvoseion of opinion from all concerned. 1 'With'that end in view it was resolved H>at the ITnlt and Petone committees should be asked to convene a meeting of "f the Mnritai, YWmii-o-mnt.'i, KomVnro, Poleno ■Unin. and T'ebne ■JW'l, Wcr Vntt. ■Tiiinni, Taita, and Unoer TTutt Mmnl Committees, and of the Putt and Petone I'orough C"unoils, in order to arn'vo at ii representative decision on 'Hip subject. Tt was generally agreed that Hie time, had now arrived for Hie provision of a high school for the Valley.
