NEW TELEGRAPH FORM.
« ADOPTED FOE WELLINGTON. The new telegraph form (which for deliver}' purposes dispenses with the envelopes) which has been tried in other centres, is to be introduced to Wellington in a few days. The form is simplicity itself, being merely a little larger than "those ut. present in use. The new idea is nil in the fold—the form is folded in such a manner that it leaves exposed only the top part on which the address is written, and to ensure absolute secrecy the ends are folded bach and held fast with a "sticker." Ths new form brings about a saving in stationery, a saving in time, and as the address has only to be written once, there is less risk ol a mistake being made. The folding of the forms is a much smarter business than folding the telegram, inserting it in an envelope, ami rewriting the address. So far the Department has relied on handtohhug, which later on may b? changed to a mechanical prows.-, in the meantime, the ingenuity ol some of the Departmental officers" has devised a clever aid to tho hand-folder. This consists of ;i straight strip of brass of u certain width. Tno rapid folds ovc-t this just leaves the address space vacant. The form is then slipped oft the tolder, and placed on a tiny biass table just the width of the address space and alter the ends of tho form are turned'in under the table, so to speak, tlie address is written, and the form is passed on to another hand, who attaches the sticker and so makes ail secure. The tolding device, which is simplicity itself is calculated to save time while it ensures a lu'gh degree of accuracy in the folding.
