Battersby (South port) led by a yard ajj tho end of the first quarter of a mile. At tho half mile Beaurepairo was level, and at a furlong from home he took the lead, winning easily in 24min. 30 2-osec.

Battersby finished in second place., with H. Taylor (Chadderton) third.
