ROSENEATH RATEPAYERS,
ASSOCIATION'S MEETING.' y The annual mooting of the RosenoatK Ratepayers'' Association was held in Roseneath School' last evening, when Mr. H. M. Liardet presided over an attendance of eleven members. . The executive stated in their annual •report that, as a result of representations made to the City Council during the year,, a number'of useful improvements had been effected. The work of constructing a new reservoir was. well in band, the old gas lamps had been replaced by electric lamps, and a number of street improvements had been carried out. A strong firo brigade had been formed, and the City Council had erected a station with hose, reel, and bell complete. •■•'•• In moving tho adoption of the report, tho president remarked that they had a good deal to be" thankful foT. A year ago it was doubtful if tliek association could survive. Now it had every prospect of, a successful future, 'file City Council had acceded to a good many of their requests. Mr. H. Bridge hoped that apathetic residents who neglected the association would take note of What tho encrgstic few had done in their interests. The retiring president \vas re-elected. The retiring secretary, Mr. H. Ward, dccliued reappointment, but agreed to continue to carry on the duties of the office in the meantime. •It was agreed that in future the association should meet on tho third Tuesday in the month. Tho president remarked that Superintendent O'Brien and the City Council Fire Brigade Committee deserved tht. gratitude of Roseneath ratepayers for the excellent firo brigade equipment they had supplied. The. local men who had taken up the work were developing' into excellent volunteer firemen.
