The barometer has continued low everywhere aud the gradients small, thus accounting for the winds .being only of moderate strength in most parts, though gales have been experienced in the northern and southernmost districts, and hravy rain has fallen In many parts, and especially on the eastern roasts of bofh-islands. Present indications are for a rising barometer in the north, with strong ooutherly and westerly winds, and a falling barometer in the south, with freshening northeasterly wind* prevailing, Oloudy and unsettled weather with rain probable generally.
