Two breakfastcupfuls. of ' flour, 1 foreakfasteupful. of currants, 1 breakfastcupful of sultanas, 1 breakfastcupful- of sugar, 1 tablespoonful of butter, J cup' of boiling water, J cup of cold water, 1 teaspoonful of spice, grated. Dissolve the butter in the hot water. Dissolve the soda in the cold water. Mix all the dry ingredients, add the water, mix arid leave all night. ,Wet arid flour a cloth. Boil 4" hours.
