OROUA COUNTY COUNCIL.

(By Telegraph.—Special Correspondent.) Feildlng, July 1. The monthly meeting of the Oroua County Council was held to-day.' Present: Councillors. G.C. Wheeler (chairman), Hugh Burrell, TV. Reid,. W...G. Pearce, and T. Rolling. The treasurer made the following report : —Amount of general rates levied for 1909-10, £4788 Is. Id.; outstanding, £87 15s. 2d.; levioa 1910-11, £4891. Bank balances: —Debit: General account, £2812 os. 2d.; Gorge Bridge, £181 6s. lOd.; No. 21 loan, £459 13s. Bd. Credit: Interest account, £121 7s. Id.; No. 2 loan, £7 19s. 6d.

The engineer was instructed to proceed witli the work of grading the hill and lengthening the culvert on tho Siberia lload; also to define" the roadline through Siberia leading to Fitsherbert East.

The Manawatu County Council forwarded a cheque for £40, being .its contribution towards work done by the Oroua Council on the Feilding-Halcombe Road.

The New Zealand State Guaranteed Advances Office wrote stating that a loan of-£545 had been approved by the Minister, •
