(Rec. July 2, 11.40 p.m.) Berlin, July 1. The Oldenburg is 492 feet long, 29J feet draught, 20,000 tons displacement, and her engines aro supposed to give 25,000 horse-power, and a speed of 21 knots. London, June 30. Messrs. Armstrong, Whitworth, and Co., Elswick, Newcastle-on-Tyne, aro building a Dreadnought for Chili. Tho vessel will be of 32,000 tons displacement, and cost three million pounds. She will be the first vessel of this size afloat.

OTHER SHIPS OF THE CLASS. At the end of the year 1908 four leviathans of the "Ersatz" class were projected or building. These were the Ersatz-Bayern, laid down at Willielmshaven; Ersatz-Sachsen at Bremen; Ei-satz-Wartemburg at the Vulcan Yard, Stettin; Ersatz-Baden at the Germania Yard, Kiel. Following then, iii 1909, camo the laying down of the Erstaz Oldenburg, Ersatz-Siegfried, Ersatz Blowelf, and Ersatz' I'rithjof. The cost of the pioneer ship of ' the class was .£1,825,000. The Ersatz Oldenburg was built at Danzig, and will carry twelve 12in. and twelve 6.7 gnns. Her complement will be 860 men.
