A STRANGE CRIME.
e WOMAN CUTS A CHILD'S THROAT. THEN CONFESSES TO POLICE. By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright. (Rec. June 20, 11.15 p.m.) Sydney, June 20. Elizabeth Quartley, aged 65, informed the police at Mosman (Sydney) that she had killed a little girl. Tho woman acted strangely, and made a rambling statement. She was arrested as a-lunatic. Subsequently a policeman visited the woman's house, and found the dead body of a girl named Regussin with her throat horribly cut. The child left homo for school this morning, and was to call at tho woman. Quartley's house to pay the rent for the house her parents occupied, which was owned by Quartley. The child must have been dead four or five hours when the iody was found.
