LADY'S COSTLY. EXPERIENCE. By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright. London, June 19. Lady Abdy, wife of Sir William Abdy, bid 120 guineas at auction for the right to accompany Mr. C. Grahame-White, tho aeroplanist who unsuccessfully competed with M. Paulhan in the London to Manchester contest for the "Daily Mail" prize—in a biplane flight at Brooklands. Mr. White and his passenger made a start, but something went wrong, and' tho machine .fell from a height of ten feet, - and was smashed. The aviator and Lady Abdy escaped uninjured. GERMAN AVIATOR KILLED. Berlin, v Juno 19. Herr Robl, a German aviator, was aeroplaning at Stettin at a height of 250 feet) when the machine plunged, turned a somersault, and then smashed to the ground, crushing and killing Robl.
