The Central Mission Silver Band save its first public concert in Wesley Hall, Taranaki Street, last evening. The band played a number of bright selections, one of the most popular being a descriptive fantasia entitled, "A Motor Trip," illustrating, among others, such incidents as "getting the motor ready," "the start," "dog run over." The band, with its line instruments, should be an invaluable adjunct of the Central Mission. .Other contributors to the programme were as follow:—Songs, Messrs. "Sobiiis, V. H. A meeting of representatives of local bodies, friendly societies, and others, convened by the Mayor, will bo held at the Town Hall to-morrow evening to discuss the route of the procession and other matters in connection with the welcome to be given to tho new Governor on his arrival next week.
