Councillors Lynneberg, Juerjiau, Bowden,. f IJarvall,' Bannister, Aplin, Stafford, and t Plimmer were present at a special meet- • ing of tho Onslow Uorough Council last ', night. After considering a report by Hortons, ? Limited, on proposals for planting a porc tion of the catchment area, the council i- authorised the Mayor to confer with tho • city authorities in regard to any plaut- | ing contemplated by them on the adjacent reserves, and to give instructions '■ for planting on the catchment area. '■ The Education Board was authorised to ' take water from tho catchment area stream. , The amended price asked by Mr. E. A. Aplin for land taken for catchment area was considered, and it wa.s resolved to in- ; form Jiim that tho price was too high. Tho amount of bank overdraft for tho year 3010-11 was fixed at ,61700. The council authorised the signing of four. ,£IOOO debentures and one 0f.£500 for the catchment area 'oati ot ,£BOO. The Mayor was appointed Uie 'council's delegate to the Municipal Conference, and wa.s instructed to bring before the conference tho question of the collection of tho special rates at AVadestown. It was resolved to inform Mr. M'lntyrc, who applied to have a right-of-way formed on the Simla Estate, that the council had no power .to spend money on right-of-ways. The council decided to fall in with the . City Council's suggestions in regard to 9 welcoming the new Governor, Lord Is--1 lington. Tho appointment of Mr. A.
