KARORI BOROUGH COUNCIL.
d The fortnightly meeting of the Karori Borough Council, held last evening, was attended by the Mayor (Mr. C. I.' Dasent), and Councillors Spiers, Raine, Walmsley, Standen, Welling, Hildreth, Burn, and Wedde. Councillor Cathie was granted leave of absence on account of illness. ' Three residents of. Russell Crescent, and another householder of. Donald Street, petitioned for an extension of the electric lighting wires to their respective streets. The Mayor intimated that the estimates would shortly be discussed at a special meeting of the council, and these letters might then be considered. - The tenlers of Messrs. . Wnters and Burne, for carting, were accepted by tho council Proposed alterations to the building bylaws of the borough, prepared by a committee, were referred to the special meeting of the council, 'to be held for the main purpose of' considering the estimates. The council agreed to'fall in with tho suggestion made in ' a communication from the City Council, that arrangements should be made for a citizens' reception to be given to Lord Islington, tho new Governor of the Dominion. ■ The Mayor was appointed to represent the council at the annual meeting of the Municipal Association. ; Authority was given that Court proceedings should be taken against the owners of wandering stock.
