fr AN APPEAL PKOM AUCKLAND, (By Telegraph.—Special Correspondent.) Auckland, June 13. With the advent of wet winter weathes the usual numbers of labourers are Smiling their way from the country districts into the town. A great many, of those engaged on tho co-operaitive railway works arc also making for the city, and there have been'strong complaints that under the existing weather conditions it is impossible for those engaged on co-operative works to average os. per day. Mr. A. E. Glover, M.P., this morning, sent a long telegram to tUe Minister for Public Works (the Hon. E-. M'Kenzie), pointing out the existing condition of affairs, aaia urging that the Government should, do everything possible through the Labour Department io relieve the present posiiion. The member for City Central states that within the last five days he has had at least fifty men applying to him , to find work fox them to do.
