The Trades and Labour Council resolved itself into a special meeting on Thursday night to decide on the number of delegates to bo sent from the Council to attend , the Auckland Labour Conference (states tho "Weekly Herald"). Mr. Brown's proposed to limit unions- to a maximum of three delegates on the council. It was defeated by 27 votes to 8.. ft took some time to decide on the number of delegates to be sent to Auckland. After disposal of separate amendments to solid one, two, and three delegates respectively, the original motion in favour of four delegates being sent was carried on the voices. Nominations' were then taken for the position and resulted ill the following eight delegates boing nominated: —Messrs. Uassclt, Carey, Hutchinson, W. Jones, M'Larci;, Muir. Noot, and Reyling. Tho president intimated that.the election would be liold nest council night.
