Lord Dudley, Governor-General of All 9. tralia, has received from the Enrl of Crcwe (Secretary*of'State for the Colon-, ies) intimation that Kins George desires that there should be no celebration of ' tho King's Birthday (June 3) during the current year anywhere within the Empire. : MESSAGE TO THE GOVERNOR. A Press Association telegram received last night from Greyinouth shrtes that i his Excellency the- Governor hns received, and has forwarded to the Prime Minister, a message, identical with the above, hearing on the non-celebration (his year of the King's Birthday. In view of the above views, it is to bo , assumed that the 'following general order, which has been issued to the officers . commanding the military districts in. New Zealand, will be withdrawn: "You will parade the troops under your command for ceremonial parade on ; June 3 at thoir respective towns and ' local centres. No railway passes are to be issued or unnecessary expense incurred."
