NICARAGUAN REVOLT.
t REPORTS OP FIGHTING. c j By TeloßTauh—Press Association—CooTrleht London, May 24. A Now York telegram says that the Nicaraguan gunboat (.'British cruiser) Venus sunk the revolutionary gunboat Omottopo, and that a hundred rebels were drowned. A subsequent message denies this report. Despite the warnings of tho United States, fighting at Bluefields, Nicaragua, is probable. The British cruiser Scylla, 3400 tons, has sailed for Bluefields. [The British cruisers Venus and Scylla ' are both attached to the Atlantic fleet, and it is probable that tho Venus referred to in tho denied report is the i British cruiser and not a Nicaraguan . gunboat. In January the commander of ' tho Scylla issued a warning to both sides that fighting would not be allowed near s Greytown.] j . i •A FIERCE ATTACK. a BRITISH TROOPS EEPOETED TO BE ' LANDING. ■* (Ree.
