I Bandmaster Gruar, the recently-ap-pointed conductor of tho new regimental band of the First Wellington liiflo bat- " talion, is making excellent progress with his musicians, and some of the recent, practices show that the battalion has B been fortunate in its decision to provide ' itself with a regimental band of its i- own. It is not intended that the band ° will appear in public until tho question r of uniform has been decided. It will then 0 be able to make its official debut as a ? regimental band. 1 There will be no farther battalion parades of the First Wellington Rifles a till the company units havo become " thoroughly versed in the new "doublc- " rank" drill.
