A SHAKESPEARE BALL.
There, is to be a wonderful Shakespearean fancy costume ball at the Albert Hall on June 27 (says the "Queen"). Mrs. George. Corinyallis West is chairman,of the ball committee. Many duchesses, countesses, and wearers of other coronets are deeply interested,' and really intend to work at tho affair to make it a success. It will bo for the Shakespeare National Memorial Theatre, an object which every British woman should have closely at heart. Processions from Shakespeare's plays are to be formed by woli-known great ladies, of whom the Duchess of Sutherland, the Duchess of Marlborough, tho Marchioness of Salisbury, and the Countess of "Wemyss are some.'There will bo a huudred musicians in the baud. A parquet dancing iloor will lie laid to the level of the Loggia boxes. It will be a ball that will be -something to show our shoals of visitors. There was a little meeting at Lady Dickson-Poynder's house last week in support of this National Shakespeare Theatre scheme. Lady Wemyss, who is literary and artistic, presided, and among the speakers were Mrs. Alfred Lyttelton and Mr. Martin Ilarvey.
