NAVAL ARMAMENTS.
VON DER TANN. FIRST GERMAN DREADNOUGHTCRUISER, By TelcerapU—Prow AEsociation-Copyrlehl (Rec. May 24, 11.10 p.m.) Berlin, May 24. ' The first German Invincible (Dread-nought-cruiser), the Von der Tann, has been completed. [Of the group of German armoured cruisers, Von der Tann, G, H, and J, no authentic details have yet been published. The Von der Tann is understood to be of 18,700 tons, with Parsons turbine engines of 4-1,000 horse-power, giving her a speed of 25 knots. Her armament is reported to' consist of ten llin., twelve G-in., and some smaller guns. G and H are reported to be of ,22,000 tons and 70,000 horse-power, developed by Zoully turbine engines, and, if so, are amongst the largest and most powerful engined cruisers begun. Their armament is believed to consist of ten. 12-in. guus, with a number of 6-in. and 3.4-in. or 4.1-in. weapons.] UNITED STATES DREADNOUGHTS. The proposal (cabled yesterday) to reduce by one-half the United' States twoDreadnought programme, during its passage through the Senate, failed. Tho Senate passed the vote for the construction of two Dreadnoughts.
