SUMMONS AND JUDGMENT SUMMONSES.
Sir, —Tho remarks of Mr. Haselden, S.M., regarding tho above are, to my mind, about the most commoiiseuse that have come from any magistrate. That there are many people who won't pay without they get "papers" goes without saying, but there aro many or an entirely different kind who are harassed and worried by the sight of a piece of blue paper, and who look upon it as a degradation; and no doubt it is when followed up day by day by unscrupulous debt collectors, whoso only thought is of getting their commission from those who employ them. The fact of the man or woman sued does not enter into the contract, and the fact of tlifcse summonses appearing in tho papers can, to my mind, do no good. How many, for instance, of those summonses are issued without thought, and how many also are issued out of pique or potty spite. The remarks of tho worthy S.M. are, to my mind, worthy of serious consideration by the general community, and these summonses dealt with in a different manner. —I am, etc., JUDGMENT.
