Tn connection with the transfer of tha sraif of the torpedo factory at "Woolwich Arsenal to the new establishment being built nt Greenock, it is stated at Woolwich that the first contingent of workers will leave there at tiie end of June. Thev will erect tho machinery at the new factory before the arrival of the main bo'dy lato in the autumn. At the present timo there are about, seven hundred men enRaged in the torpedo factory at Woolwich, but only some five hundred will migrate north, the remainder having refused to accept the terms of the Admirilty on the ground that the conditions of labour and house accommodation at Greenock will be considerably inferior to Ihnse lo which they have boon accustomcd. Altogether 1 lie men, with their dependents, who will mako Greenock their home, total nearly throe thousand. It is beiiiß rumoured that after the departure of the Woolwich torpedo workers, the factory I here will bo taken possession of by the Government clothiers from Piinlico.
